The Community Research and Project Development (CRPD) Committee’s function is to research potential areas for JLB involvement to support the current focus and potential future focus areas that address the Mission, the Vision and Strategic Priorities set forth in the JLB Strategic Plan. The committee uses this information to develop project proposals according to the Procedures for Project Criteria and bring them for membership consideration. They also evaluate current projects annually and make necessary recommendations to the membership for renewal, termination and carrying forward unused budgeted funds to the next fiscal year. The CRPD Committee is responsible for reviewing current position statements and ensuring new position statements are written supporting League projects and advocacy efforts The following criteria is used to evaluate all existing and prospective projects. (a) Each project must further our mission and vision and align with our values and beliefs, while supporting the Strategic Priorities of our Strategic Plan. (b) Each project must offer members personal growth, through volunteer opportunities and training. (c) Each project must offer the League opportunity to form partnerships and/or collaborations in the community, and for the League’s representation in planning and administrative capacities. (d) Project goals must be established after careful evaluation and must be stated in contractual form or through a memorandum of understanding (to be approved by the League Board of Directors) with other participating partners. When necessary, a member from the League may sit on the board of a collaborating organization.
