The Junior League of Boise has a long and active history of volunteer community service. In March 1928, the energetic Boise Junior Charity League, with its 28 charter members, was accepted into the Association of Junior Leagues of America.
The Junior League of Boise has always had a two-fold mission: to provide community service projects and to train its volunteers to conduct that service in the most beneficial way. The League utilizes a training continuum that emphasizes community service, communications, management/leadership, finance/fundraising and marketing/public relations. In 2008, the Junior League of Boise will celebrate its 80th anniversary. The League has come a long way since its inception in 1928, however members have not forgotten the League's beginnings and we are grateful to all the members who contributed to the League's tremendous success. As times have changed for women, the League has also evolved. League membership is open to all women age 21 and older and active members are comprised of a diversity of women who share a common vision; to improve our community. Members dedicate valuable time, resources and knowledge enabling the League to positively impact the community. The Junior League of Boise legacy is well entrenched in the Treasure Valley and will continue to provide valuable community volunteers and community projects for the next 80 years!
